Free Saturday Labor Art Classes The Museum has received funding from the Puffin and Verizon Foundations to host Saturday Labor Arts Classes for students from grades 3 through 5. The classes begin on March 6th and end on May 22nd, 2010. Due to its popularity, preregistration is required.
The purpose of the program is to expose students to the history and contemporary issues of working people and immigrants through the visual and performing arts. The students will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities by which they will develop a better understanding of an immigrant worker's home, lifestyle and workplace as a means of comparison to the same issues today. Classes are held at the Botto House. For further information and registration, please call 973-595-7953 or e-mail labormuseum@aol.com.
To enroll, please complete and return the registration form to The American Labor Museum, 83 Norwood Street, Haledon, NJ 07508 |
