Ms. Laurino will discuss her new book, " Old World Daughter, New World Mother: An Education in Love andFreedom (W>W>Norton, 2009) and sign copies that will be available for purchase. | ||||||||
| Combining lived experience and research on contemporary work-family issues, Ms. Laurino discusses feminism through the prism of Italian-American identity in her book. She seeks to reconcile her upbringing in an Italian- American home. where sacrifice was the ideal of motherhood, with her desire to start a familt while pursuing a career. Ms. Laurino reveals how she learned from "Old World" and "New World" perspectives. | ||||||||
